Hey! What up? My name is Marika (they/them).
Iām a dark abstract – blackwork tattoo artist working nomadically through Europe.
Psyland has been part of my landscape for a while now, and being here as a guest artist feels like a precious step for my career.
I help collectors escape generic tattoo culture. What I build with them is deeply personal, structurally bold, and made to exist nowhere else but on that specific body.
Dark abstract blackwork for me is: organic forms and shapes, bold blackouts.
Work that lives in tension between control and chaos, and means something.
Because getting there is a process. You go through the pain, you sit with it, you come out different. What ends up on your skin was already living somewhere deep inside you, this just makes it visible.
I started tattooing on myself, in my teenage bedroom, with a very questionable coil machine. Before that I studied in art schools, then took a degree in cinema and multimedia arts.
Tattooing absorbed all of it. It became the thing that holds everything else together.
I work fast, precise, but most of all mindful and I expect the same from my clients too.
